The staff were very friendly, the hotel is a cute beachside spot, the on‑site restaurant is lovely, the pool area is nice (though it’s across the road), and the shops and 7‑11 are really close. Breakfast, which isn’t included, starts at 9 am and felt too late for us.

Bell’hotel sits right on the beach. The family room is spacious, in a Mexican rustic style with nice colours. We really liked the outdoor veranda with lounge chairs and hammocks overlooking the palm‑tree garden, which had extra hammocks; in the afternoon the beach breeze created a relaxing atmosphere. The common areas and the small private beach are nice (we couldn’t use it because of the seaweed at that time, but it’s a definite plus in other periods). The staff were very courteous and eager to meet our requests. Great value for money, would gladly return. Only minor issues: more luggage support points in the rooms and hooks for hanging towels in the bathroom.

The view over the sea is fantastic, the balcony is huge, the beds are comfortable, and the décor feels traditionally charming.

The hotel itself is fine, but the sargassum in Tulum ruined the experience. You really shouldn’t stay more than two days in Tulum because the seaweed is overwhelming and makes swimming impossible, plus it smells terrible. The beachfront hotel felt a bit past its prime as tourists are fleeing the area. I spent three nights there; if I had to do it again I’d only stay one night, just to visit Coba and Punta Allen, even though those spots are also overrated with their own sargassum‑covered “paradise” beaches.
