Hostel Sunset Villas Popoyo

I loved the location, the calm vibe, the good music, and the staff were super friendly; the breakfast was simple but tasty. The shared dorm I stayed in was unbearably hot, had only two fans that didn’t reach the beds, no kitchen in the room, and the Wi‑Fi was only available in the common areas.

The hammocks and dogs were a highlight, but the staff weren’t very friendly, the restaurant’s hours were limited and not posted, the rooms were dark, and the price wasn’t really affordable. There are many other hostels on the beach that offer better value.

“Very bad service.”

We ended up paying more than expected, had to wait to enter our room because guests hadn’t checked out, and the room wasn’t clean after 10 PM.

The “kitchen” had a fridge that didn’t work and a stove but no cooking utensils, not even a plate, so it was basically no kitchen. In the shared room there was only one fan and it was super hot, plus mosquitoes. The toilet leaked and the shower was very rough. The gate closed at 7 PM, so you had to go through the beach, and at high tide your feet are in the water.

“Precio/calidad. Buena ubicación cerca de todo”

The room was clean and comfortable with a fan, breakfasts were excellent, and the beach location was great, close to the market with everything and restaurants around. It’s about a 20‑minute walk to Beginner Bay.
