Hotel 't Witte Huys Scheveningen is a family hotel located near Scheveningen beach, Holland Casino, and boulevard. The hotel offers free WiFi throughout and is a 10-minute tram or bus ride from The Hague city centre. Rooms feature private bathrooms, TVs, and coffee/tea facilities. Shops, restaurants, and a movie theater are within a 5-minute walk.

The location was good. Unfortunately the room was nothing like the pictures – it was extremely small. Mold was present on the ceiling in the bathroom. There was a balcony, but the door to it could not be locked. Since the balcony was connected to a staircase with other rooms, one could theoretically enter the room from there. The toilet sprayed water when flushing, even with the lid closed. Breakfast times were not respected, and the breakfast itself was poor (reheated rolls that were sometimes not refilled, effectively eliminating choice). The bathroom light operated on a motion sensor that turned on randomly, even at night. The shower was so tiny that standing upright was difficult. Throughout my stay, my room was never cleaned or had its trash emptied.

The location was okay. The reception was not staffed – check‑in details were unknown. The only light switch was at the room door, so at night there was no flashlight. The sewage lift system produced a noise that woke the whole building. There were crumbs on the bed.

The housekeeper was very friendly, and the location was great – five minutes to the beach and the nearby restaurants, parking was also convenient though a bit pricey. Breakfast was very disappointing: only three types of sausage, some cheese, Nutella, a few sliced tomatoes, filter coffee from a machine, and the sugar packets were dry and the containers were dirty. Maybe we’re a bit spoiled, but for the money we expected more! The app says breakfast starts at eight on Mondays, yet no one was there until half‑past nine and the dining room was closed. The rooms were very old‑fashioned, unfortunately dirty, the bed wasn’t properly assembled, the bathroom or shower area was unclean, toothpaste splashes from the previous guest were still on the mirror, the shower head was disgusting, and to get a decent shower one had to try for ten minutes to adjust the water. The water pressure was also not great. I heard every movement of the neighbor and every footfall on the stairs.
