The view from all three houses is fantastic, and the huge lawn in front of the houses and behind it is overwhelmingly large, well‑maintained, and beautiful, making it great for our dog to run around. The sauna house with its lovely wooden terrace and the two sofas for relaxing is also very nice; you can enjoy a wind‑free sunset or the morning sun there. The long pier and the nice bathing spot invite you to linger, stand up paddle, or swim. The river is very wide, calm, and pretty, and there’s a nice walking path along the river for dogs. It ends in a construction area where only sand is extracted or stored. Nearby are many forests, and it takes 7 to 10 minutes by car to reach the beach. At the beach or along the long villa street in front of the beach, you can park for free all day, and there are several beach entrances. Dogs are not allowed on the beach in all of Jurmala from 1.4 to 31.10, and the police conduct checks. The locals go to the beach with their dogs after 17h on evenings when there aren’t many people. The beaches towards Majori are crowded, towards Sloka are emptier, and where there are no toilets or bars on the beach, the police only come rarely. Those beaches are very empty. The large open lawn in front of the houses is very windy, so at least the mobile home on the far right is so wind‑blown on the terrace that you can’t really sit there. Maybe the landlord could install a plexiglass pane on the side. Otherwise, from all living rooms you have a fantastic view of the river and the meadow, and at night there are great sunsets. The only other issue was that there was very little dishware there, no cutting board, bread knife, salad fork, or pot lids. That’s not a problem for two people, but the houses are meant for six, and for them it could get tight. What really bothered me was the white or very light blind in the bedroom, which woke me up very early in the morning. A dark blind would have been much more appropriate, and insect protection in front of the windows.
