The whole location was set up in traditional style. Ioana, a wonderful host, exceeded our expectations with her hospitality. The food she served us was very, very tasty.

We were superbly welcomed. The hostess was charming, gave us plenty of information about the region and Romania, served us two traditional dinners and a very hearty breakfast, explained local customs, and spoke perfect French.

Everything! For example, the hospitality, the food and the interesting culture. The toilet made a bit of noise when going to sleep – this went away eventually.

A dream vacation in Maramureș at Casa Utan. Mrs. Ioana and Mr. Ion are welcoming hosts, always attentive to the smallest detail, always with a smile. The maid, Mrs. Domnului Lon, greeted us with a linen hug, unraveling memories like a true storyteller. Traditional food was very tasty, varied and rich. The plum brandy, apple brandy and the house sour cherry wine were very good on the house. The rooms were rustic, clean. The area was indescribably beautiful. We liked it and will definitely return.

“Mulstumesc Ioana!”

A superb encounter and place to stop in Maramureș. Ioana and her family welcome you wonderfully. The meals are hearty and delicious. Ioana speaks French very well and gives plenty of tips to visit the region.
