“Stay was nice and quiet however as above we were shocked at the level of dust in the room”

The property itself was beautiful, but room 403 was extremely dusty with cobwebs everywhere. A wedding was happening at the venue, so we felt we couldn’t complain as staff would be busy. Despite the clean reception and great location, we were shocked by the poor cleanliness of our room. The door at the room’s entrance nearly caused an accident because the bathroom door acted like a barrier, making the room door bounce back onto me.

“Very disappointing for what we paid”

There were no disabled‑friendly rooms with wet rooms even though I had requested them on booking; the lift only reaches the upper floor, so the gents’ toilets on that level were inaccessible; the disabled toilet was too far from the bar‑restaurant; staff were rude and complained about other staff members; we were at a function and the disabled access was very poor.

“Would not rush to stay here again.”

The breakfast was reasonable, but the hotel, though a lovely old building, seemed a little uncared for; the cleanliness, especially in the bedroom, was lacking; the room was shabby and unwelcoming, the bed uncomfortable, and it clearly needed a deep clean; it was not as advertised and extremely overpriced for what was offered.

I did enjoy the pool and how big the outside area is for our night time walks. There were cobwebs on the windows badly, and some areas hadn't been cleaned in a while
