The proximity to the port was a plus, but the room had no window, was tiny, and there was no top sheet—only a blanket that probably isn’t changed each time the room is vacated.

I stayed one night to catch the next morning ferry; the reception wasn’t very friendly. When I asked if the kitchen was still open, I was told yes, but ten minutes later, after settling in, I was told curtly that it was closed. I also had no working adapter; the front desk sent me to a shop that had none. The next morning I discovered a plug with the right connector in a corner of the hostel. That lack of helpfulness was disappointing.

There was no mirror in the bathroom and it was quite noisy, but the price was much lower if you don’t book through Booking.

“Not a place to sleep, very noisy”

I chose a private room at Happy Nest Hostel because I wanted a quiet place to sleep, knowing it had no windows and was cheap. Instead, a relentless, machine‑like hum—like an industrial fridge—kept running all night, making it impossible to rest. The staff were polite, but the noise ruined the whole point of booking a private room, so I wouldn't recommend it.
