Located in central Oslo, Thon Hotel Europa is 300 metres from Nationaltheatret Metro Station and Karl Johans Gate shopping street. The hotel features rooms with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and tea/coffee facilities. A 5-minute walk leads to the Royal Palace. The hotel offers a popular breakfast buffet and in-house Café Europa serving Norwegian and international cuisine, with a courtyard seating area available during summer.

Value for money was very good. This was the first hotel I found that offered a Nespresso machine with original capsules in both the room and lobby—top quality. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. The location is very quiet, and it’s a 10‑15 minute walk to the city centre. It’s also close to the U‑bahn at Theaterplatz.

I had a wonderful stay at Thon Hotel Europa—comfortable rooms, a warm vibe, and very welcoming staff. The location and service made for a convenient and pleasant visit to Oslo!

The location is very central and the breakfast is plentiful, but the bed is too soft.

The breakfast spread was varied and generous, and the room was quiet with good bedding and pillows—just ask so you’re not placed on the tram side. It’s very central, only 5 minutes from the National Theatre, and the attached restaurant offers a decent menu. The neighborhood is calm and safe, and buses and trams are easily accessible. The downside was that breakfast only offered tea or coffee; no cappuccino, hot chocolate, or other options. Housekeeping was only available on request and was missed once during our stay. Once the shower water was only lukewarm in the evening, the bathroom felt a bit cramped, and the décor was impersonal.
