It was great value, offering everything you’d need for a few days, with a place to make simple breakfasts and drinks, a comfy bed and pillows, air conditioning, two bedrooms, and showers as a bonus. The family was kind, and the property was close to many nice spots and a shop/supermarket right next door. The only downside was that nothing really was next to the main road or train track, but that turned out to be very convenient.

I stayed alone there for a week, having the entire second floor to myself. The bed was good, the new air conditioner worked well, and the living area had sofas, a table, and a fridge. The veranda had a summer kitchen with everything needed and an ocean view. A store and a bus stop were just 30 seconds away, and the beach with turtles was a 5‑minute walk, as was a wave‑free beach. The hosts were very welcoming and provided everything I needed. The only drawback is that if you’re sensitive to noise, it can be loud because the main road is on one side and the railway on the other, so keep that in mind. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful place to stay and you feel at home.

The price‑to‑quality ratio was excellent, and the beach was only about 50 meters away—just cross the road. The kitchen was fully equipped with a gas stove, water, dishes, and a fridge, all on an open veranda where you can cook outdoors with a sea view. A shop is in the neighboring building, a bus stop is 10 meters away, and the turtle beach is a 5‑minute walk—its reef keeps waves out, and there are many fish besides the turtles. The air conditioner worked well. The family was great. We stayed for two days and the villa owner let us leave our bags for free. If you ask, he’ll make a Sri Lankan‑style breakfast or dinner; the portions are huge, so we ended up eating the breakfast for another two days. The bed was very squeaky, the proximity to the road made it noisy, and the railway nearby sometimes had trains passing—by the third day we got used to it, and at night the trains were barely audible. There was no hot water, only street‑temperature water at about 25 °C.
