“Sold our room to another customer”

Gomersal lodge is lovely, but they oversold a room and we were moved into an MDU on another site; it was an overflow housing room, run down, not the hotel I bookex.

The grounds are beautiful, though the décor feels a bit tired; renovations are underway, so it should be a great spot once finished.

“Pretty little place, good for a night or 2 with beautiful grounds.”

The location and grounds are beautiful, the room was very clean, comfortable, and a good price, but there were no plug sockets next to the bed for phone or medical device charging, the bathroom needed minor work—sink looked old and scratched, towel rail was missing, and both curtains and blinds were inadequate for blocking sunlight. There is also no bar or restaurant.

“Didn't stay!”

We left after 15 minutes. The room was shabby, and the ensuite was nothing more than a broom cupboard. We had to park on grass because the carpark was occupied by a function, and we were told we could use the carpark after 11 pm when the event finished—there was no disabled parking. The staff seemed too busy with the function, so we simply left the key at reception as we departed.
