Everything! The architect‑style house is incredible 🤩 with amazing decor. The owner is super friendly, very attentive to guests, always available, takes great care, and wants your stay to be a unique experience. Nothing to complain about.

If you love striking architecture, tasteful décor, lush tropical surroundings, well‑made home‑cooked meals, and kind, attentive, incredibly gracious service, you should stay here. Asitha and his wonderful team made our stay so enjoyable that we all agreed four nights wasn’t enough, so we’ll return. Getting downtown was easy, with Sudhan kindly taking us for free in the property’s tuk‑tuk. Kavi’s home cooking was exceptional, and the breakfast included was wonderful; we ordered dinners at a very modest and worthwhile price. They honestly didn’t put a foot wrong, and it feels great to support a small, independently run operation that’s firing on all cylinders. Thank you again! It was all great.

The view over Kandy is magnificent, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff are very welcoming. Breakfast was superbly prepared, and the staff did everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Nothing… As a long‑time Dutchman I had to be careful with the doors because they were very low. Otherwise no complaints.

The Margossa Residence is the perfect spot if you’re after a truly special location. The house itself is extraordinary, with beautiful, spacious rooms that are crafted with great attention to detail. Host Asitha and his team go above and beyond to make the stay unforgettable: they greet you warmly, give plenty of tips for visiting Kandy, and even offer a tuk‑tuk with driver for the roughly 15‑minute drive into town. The breakfast is the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Thanks, Asitha, for the hospitality – we’ll be back!

I liked everything about the Residence! The design and décor of the house, all the small comfort details, and the location. It sits in a very quiet, green setting yet is still reachable from the city in 10 minutes by tuk‑tuk. Oh… I almost forgot, the breakfast is so good it makes a five‑star hotel look jealous. Our stay was excellent!
