Guests enjoy a lounge, shared kitchen, games room, barbecue area, bicycle parking, tour desk, luggage storage, and full‑day security. Free private parking is onsite. Located 15 minutes’ walk from Mount Maunganui Beach and 4 km from Tauranga Airport, with nearby restaurants.

The hostel is beautiful and exudes the same cheerful vibe as Mount Maunganui. The staff are friendly and always ready to help. I had a mishap when I lost my wallet, and a very kind girl, along with other hostel mates, helped me find it in the hallway near the bathroom—an awful scare but nothing serious 😅. When I arrived, I asked for a bottom bunk, and they not only gave it to me but upgraded my room, for which I’m very grateful. I only stayed one night, but it was my final night on Mount Maunganui after six amazing months living here. Thanks to Pacific Coast Lodge for hosting my farewell. Thank you for everything, Mount Maunganui ❤️. The only drawback is that there are no lockers in the room, but the place and the area are so safe that I don’t think they’re necessary.

Beautiful location, good atmosphere, friendly staff, clean, and a bit pricey during the last days of the “high” season because of the Kiwis.

The location was great, so I could get to the beach quickly. I also had a single sleeping area, which was perfect (though you have to be lucky). Unfortunately, the beds were a bit dirty, and I found other people’s hair on the mattress.
