The room itself was a bit small, but it was spotless and had everything I needed.
The location is also really convenient, just a short walk from the city centre.

The room matched the photos, and I didn’t even expect a balcony! It’s small, but we were mainly out walking, so two beds, an AC, a shower, and cleanliness were all we needed—and the balcony let us wash clothes, which was a lifesaver. The reviews say the location is convenient, and that’s true: we only took a taxi to the bus station, then walked to the waterfront, ferries, the market, and the bus to Troia. The host is super welcoming and sent all the info before we arrived, not just how to get there but also all the sights. We had already planned most of our trip, but his tips were spot on. In the hotel we met very nice people, many of whom come to Nr 1 more than once. The city is beautiful, and we hope to return.

The place is cheap and, although it sits a little outside the heart of Çanakkale, you can still walk there without trouble; the room stayed nicely cool thanks to the air‑conditioning and the owner was friendly enough to chat enjoyably. The only downside was that the shower took a moment to warm up, but at that price it was completely acceptable.
Had a fantastic stay! The owner is a legend, and if you’re Aussie or Kiwi you’ll love it.

The host was phenomenal, eager to help and learn about our Australian and New Zealand roots, which made the trip great. Renting a car was a blast, even though it was a bit more complicated than we’d planned because of the Victory Day holiday and the Bosphorus closures for the swim. NR1 was the perfect stay: great location, everything within easy reach, and a very welcoming host.
