The place is right by the beach and the cheapest you’ll find in Tonsai, but the staff were only somewhat friendly. One morning they entered my room and accused me of “jailing” them because I had clothes and climbing gear on another bed while I was packing alone and taking up space. They still charged 200 bath for using an extra bed even though I explained I was trying to fit everything into my backpack. Also, there’s no light from 6 pm to 4 am.

What makes this spot unique is the family that runs it—warm, welcoming, and treating you like a guest rather than a customer. It’s a simple place meant to slow you down and let you disappear for a while. The surrounding nature is alive, with monkeys wandering around regularly. The location is cut off from urban infrastructure, which brings some limits: electricity comes from a generator, only in the evenings, and turns off around 4‑5 am. That’s actually a great nudge to put the phone down and just be. It’s not fancy, but if you’re after atmosphere and local hospitality, this is the place.

“Pure Tonsai vibe”

A good spot to stay in Tonsai where you can meet other travelers and climbers. It keeps the essence of Tonsai alive and the staff were really nice. The only improvement I’d suggest is adding AC to the rooms.

Simple and extremely well‑located! Very friendly staff. Choose your neighbors carefully because the place is very quiet, but the noises at night come quickly.

Very chilled vibes, but it was crazily hot. The fan barely worked, especially not for the top bed, and the bathroom was a bit dirty.
