Located five minutes’ walk from Tenjin’s shops and restaurants, Dukes Hotel Nakasu offers rooms with internet. Each room includes a 23‑inch LCD TV, refrigerator, trouser press, and bathroom with shower, bathtub, and toiletries. Procacci Cuisine serves dishes; vending machines provide drinks. The hotel is four minutes from Nakasu Kawabata Subway Station and fifteen minutes from Nakasu Yatai Street food stalls.

I chose congee from the breakfast spread that included Japanese, Western, and congee options, and it hit the spot after I overate the night before. The only downside was that, because my room was on the edge, the neighboring building’s windows were too close and the curtains couldn’t be fully closed.
