Beautiful Three-Bedroom House in Richmond

“A British experience!”

The location was excellent and it felt like we were really experiencing a British home. Richmond is within easy walking distance, and a Costa and Sainsbury’s are just a two‑minute walk away! The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when we had heating issues; they promptly dropped off an extra portable heater. The house could use some maintenance – everything worked, but the bathrooms feel a bit outdated.

“our stay when we eventually got in was good”

After flying in from Australia, the first thing we hit was a nightmare with the key collection: the code we were told was wrong, we were sent back to the house to pick it up from cleaners who never appeared, the code was wrong again, and we had to go back to the house once more. Still no new code, so we finally got the keys after three taxi rides, stranded in an unfamiliar area. The whole situation was frightening, and it set a poor tone right from the start, even though the location is very good.

The spot is close to everything, but the shower water pressure was terrible and the overall condition of the house felt more like an 80s student dorm than a beautiful property. The description was a stretch.

“Great and convenient”

Only two minutes walk to the metro and the shopping district, which is great. The property needs a bit more upkeep: the bath tubs are broken and lack locks, and the windows are outdated. The same issues were highlighted earlier.

“As we had to travel last minute for family reasons, this was the only accomodation available.”

The location is a big plus, just a minute walk from Richmond Tube & Bus Station and within easy walking distance of pubs, restaurants and cafés along the Thames. However, there is no door code; keys must be collected and returned to a deli a fair distance away, requiring either a 20‑minute walk or a bus ride—unhelpful when coming from Heathrow or the train station. We arrived at 7 am after a 24‑hour flight from Australia and had to wait at a nearby café while the unhelpful man at the 24‑hour deli finally handed us the keys. Then we had to catch a bus with all our luggage to the house to check ourselves in. The place shouldn’t be marketed as a three‑bedroom house; the third bedroom only fits a single bed and offers no space for luggage, making it unsuitable for three adults sleeping separately and only suitable for a child. The furniture is tired and needs replacement, including the lounge, dining table and chairs, all the beds, and the bathroom, which all feel like they could break or collapse at any moment.
