The shower was good and the room was clean enough. It looked a bit dated, but as a budget place I didn’t expect the Savoy vibes.

The rating seemed low, yet the price matched my budget. A couple of locals mentioned the recent takeover, which made me feel good. One issue: I sent messages before arrival and didn’t receive a reply; the staff apologized upon arrival.

“Have used twice would go again reasonable price and clean and comfortable staff friendly and helpful”

The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast cook didn’t show up until 0900, and we tried it once but weren’t impressed. Just across the road is a breakfast café that serves excellent meals and opens at 0800, and there are several cafés on Roker Beach. The hotel is very reasonable price-wise and sits right opposite the beach. The breakfast times are too late and could use an earlier start.

“No hot water”

We were close to the venue we were going to. We had to take a cold shower before going out because there was no hot water 😩
