Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel

“I should have let the reservation folks know that I needed a handicapped room. That was my fault, not the hotel’s.”

The hotel was clean and close to the airport, but the walk to the elevator and then to the room was far too long.

The shuttle bus, driven by a lovely driver, makes getting to the airport a breeze, though you can’t walk to the terminal. The staff needed a nudge to help, but once you reached them they were very helpful. The hotel feels dated and grubby; the pool looks nothing like the pictures and feels dirty, the gym is small, and the on‑site store—though a great idea—was rarely manned. It’s fine for a quick stopover, but beyond that I see no reason to stay; I even snapped a photo that looked like a Borat gif when I searched “bad hotel” on my iPhone.

The staff were nice, clean, and friendly. I got confused about how to use the phone in the room to contact the front desk.
