The location is great, the bar has a good vibe, the food is tasty, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room feels a little dated but still fine, and the place is quite noisy—not from outside, but the walls between rooms are thin. There were no coat hangers, and the basin in the bathroom didn’t hold water.

The staff were polite and courteous, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was excellent, and the lounge and bar areas were very cozy. There was nothing to dislike.

It was comfortable and ideal for a 3 day relaxing stay. Very pleasant dining room and good sized bedroom. NB Exceptionally pleasant and efficient staff. Small details that need attention: 1. Very slow draining hand basin in bedroom (no.10 Thunderer) 2. Bedroom lighting very restricted, particularly bed lights for reading

We had a very good experience with the friendly, helpful staff, and the food was very good while the room was comfortable. I killed seven spiders the night we stayed and saw two more above the tub the next morning.
