The staff were absolutely wonderful, making me feel right at home.
The dinner I had was truly exceptional, with each bite a testament to the chef's skill.
The hotel was clean, tidy, and had a spacious bedroom, which I really appreciated.

An oasis on the Camino with good food
“Nice hotel for a stop on the El Comino”
The building has a lot of character and the location is perfect for El Comino; breakfast was lovely. I had to wait a long time before someone came to check me in, and the room had no window—only a skylight. My room was above the restaurant, so it was very noisy in the evenings and during breakfast.
“Pizza, relax y aventura (y muy buena gente)”
An idyllic place served by unbeatable people who make the stay welcoming. A fantastic base to relax and wander the Basque Mountains, or to enjoy the coast a few minutes away, or to get your adventurous side going with their huge active tourism offer: climbing, archery, zip‑lining, surfing… and, for me, the best of all, the restaurant with a local product menu that blows your mind and a hand for pizzas in their stone oven, which draws people from all around for dinner (if you stay, book just in case!).
“with some TLC it could be a really nice rustic stay.”
It had character and the staff were super friendly, plus the shower water was strong and hot. However, the shower floor was basically tiles laid over an open pit, there was mold in the shower, and cobwebs in the ceiling rafters.
“Lovely old hotel with good food and service!”
Beautiful old building in a lovely location with a bar and restaurant that’s great for walking the Camino, and a beautiful creekside walk from the hotel into Markina. It was a bit awkward to get to and would have been better with some signs along the way, a lamp on the far side of the bed, and a few more outlets.
