Chambery Inn

“Beautiful, refurbished schoolhouse in a perfect location for Tanglewood.”

The inn has a great character, preserving the spirit of the old schoolhouse. The rooms were very comfortable, and we appreciated the espresso machine even though we didn’t have time for breakfast. The location was ideal, within walking distance of many restaurants and bars and a short drive to Tanglewood. The only drawback is the stairs, which are ordinary and comfortable for now, but we might want elevators later.

“Very nice place! We enjoyed our stay.”

We arrived at 7 PM, so no staff were on duty, but the key‑pickup directions were clear and efficient. The room was spacious and nice, the location was very central, and the area was quiet at night.

“Just too expensive for what one gets.”

The location was outstanding, yet I thought $750 for this lodging was ridiculous; I needed a place and was a bit desperate for a room in Lee, Stockbridge, and Lenox. I had a Sunday night lodging at the Constance and could not get in at that Lenox Collection a day early. I did not opt for breakfast because I didn’t want to pay a dime extra with my total room cost over $800, and I never saw anyone with the Chambéry staff. I could not even get the coffee maker to make 2 cups of coffee.
