The City Hotel, Dunfermline, is a lively hotel situated in the heart of Dunfermline, 100 metres from Pittencrieff Park. Built in 1775, this historic hotel features 32 rooms with flat-screen TVs, WiFi, trouser presses, and tea/coffee facilities. The hotel offers a Weavers bar and restaurant with an extensive menu and al fresco dining, plus a traditional Scottish breakfast. Nearby attractions include over 40 golf courses, Edinburgh (15-minute drive), and the Fife coast.

The breakfast that comes with the rate was really good, offering a wide array of choices. The spot is in the middle of everything and practically right next to the lovely Glen park gates. The poached eggs were a touch overdone for my taste, but that didn’t ruin the overall experience.

The staff were excellent. The room was too hot, and the view was a horrible wall. A metal kitchen fan raged from 6 00 to 6 30 am onwards, and glass bottles were hammered into bins early in the morning. The previous review from five years ago was obviously ignored. I will not be back.
