Tundrea Holiday Resort

The room was 14 °C, so warm when we arrived, but the bedding and floor were cold. The heating turned on a bit early.

After we switched to a better cabin, everything was fine. We had booked a standard cabin through the internet, but the cabin turned out to be the one nearest the main road. In my opinion, the cabin’s level and equipment were not what the website advertised. The overall look, including old carpets, was shabby. The price‑quality ratio was off. I’m not sure if Tundrea is the only cabin that needs renovation or updating. If my memory serves, there was no fireplace or dishwasher, even though the site said there would be. When we noticed the old fridge lacked a freezer compartment, I went to the reception to ask if we could get a cabin with a freezer. They said we could bring our own freezer to the reception for storage. I tried a better cabin, but it was said to be unavailable. I wondered why the website still listed available cabins. Then a slightly larger, better cabin was arranged, and naturally I paid more for it. The service felt a bit awkward this time, and Tundrea clearly needs some renovation. But the end was good: everything was fine 😁 breakfast was good, the scenery was nice, and we entertained ourselves for 3 days. We’ll visit Kilpisjärvi next summer and check Tundrea’s service and cabin quality again 😉🤩

“Frustrante”

There are much better spots to see the northern lights. The hotel was operating partially because it was low season, and that could have been made clearer.

“Nice location good for foreigner groups first time in Finland.”

Location, common areas, breakfast. We had a "Junior Suite" that was marketed as "total chalet' which was tiny even for two people. Did not really have a kitchnette nor eating table. It was winter and the roads to the main building were not plowed neither for walking or driving. No new year celebration, activities services were fully booked. Owner hated and advised not to use it. He did not want to discuss our complaints and referred to bookin.com which I did but they only answered to talk to property. We left after 1st night and no refund was possible

Everything was great. The only downside was the way we arrived.
