We arrived to rent the place and the owner told us the room was already booked; normally she rents two rooms but because her family was there she only offered one, which felt odd; she claimed it never happened before but then a few minutes later admitted it had, so we decided not to waste time and went to a hotel instead where there were no surprises; renting rooms from private owners is over.
