“Séjour compliqué !”

In the midst of nature and very quiet. The pool was full of particles, and just by stepping in, we got small skin eruptions. We wanted to try both breakfast options, but that wasn’t allowed; we were forced to have the Western breakfast. We had planned to eat at 10 h, but at 9:20 h, while still in bed, someone knocked on our door to say breakfast was ready. We rushed, only to receive a plate with a very thin omelette, two mini‑sausages, and a dry muffin, all for 8 dollars. Access to the various services was complicated throughout the stay. The laundry service simply wasn’t possible.

“Äußerst gelungener Aufenthalt im Outback im Hide Yala!”

I stayed at this small lodge in the Outback, and the staff were incredibly courteous and helpful. The place was spotless, earning a perfect 10 for cleanliness. The meals, especially breakfast, were delicious and highly recommended. Getting there by jeep or tuk‑tuk was straightforward. I’m glad I chose this spot because the locals did everything they could to make our experience memorable, and it’s also a good base for a jeep safari into the national park.

“Nice place in the nature”

The lodge was lovely and quiet, right in the middle of nature, making it an ideal launchpad for safaris. The staff weren’t fluent in English, but we managed to communicate. They served wonderful, fresh meals that were truly excellent. The team was caring and always on hand, so we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it. On the downside, there were a lot of mosquitoes in the room—even during the day, which is expected in the wild—so we had to buy a repellent for the power outlet to keep them at bay.

The hotel was quiet, had a swimming pool, and the staff were very kind. However, there was no mosquito net over the bed, the bathroom needed a makeover, and the meals were overpriced.

“Pretty, natural setting, staff was kind and nice, but minimal effort and investment put in by the hosts/owners.”

The property itself was well‑maintained and the entrance building looked nice, but it didn’t really add much. There was no English speaker on site, the AC didn’t work properly, the shower was only lukewarm at best, and there was no mosquito net in the room. It felt very rustic. The caretakers were friendly and helpful, yet the room was overpriced for what was offered. When we checked out, they couldn’t make change for dollars or rupees, so we had to go to a bank to exchange money and call Columbo for the buy‑rate conversion—an annoying hassle.
