The room was full of bugs. Mosquito nets were missing despite the proximity to the lake! At least ten dead ants lay on the double bed, suggesting that a lot of toxic insecticide was sprayed on the sheets. We left the cabin immediately for health reasons. The receptionist admitted that rooms are sprayed! “Clearing up the rooms” was her phrase for spraying, as she made two corresponding hand gestures. The toilet/bath smelled terrible.

The place is in a great spot next to the Batur climb departure and near the lake, and the 80 cm hot pool is nice, but there’s no sink and it’s really noisy.

The hot baths in the hotel are fantastic; I highly recommend them.

The rental is very close to the hot springs, and the on‑site hot spring pool is great and cheap, but there’s no shower.
