“Decent stay”
The hotel was an overall okay stay; the location isn’t the best, but DiDi makes getting around manageable, so transportation wasn’t a big issue. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful throughout, and the interior was clean and well‑maintained, even though the exterior looked a bit rundown at first glance. The interior was actually quite decent and comfortable, so overall it was a decent stay if you manage expectations. One thing to note is parcel delivery— the hotel doesn’t always accept all packages, so you may need to coordinate with the receptionist beforehand to avoid any inconvenience. There is a self‑service laundry available, which is convenient, but there’s no dryer provided, so you’ll need to bring your clothes up to the second level to hang them to dry.
This little traditional guesthouse feels like a home in a local neighborhood. Walking takes you straight to the stunning Pagodas complex, and a quick taxi gets you to the North gate of the ancient city. The room was comfy, the beds were cozy, and the staff were helpful – they even kept in touch via WeChat.
Being just a short walk from Chongshen Temple and the three pagodas (and only 20 minutes to the old town) was a real advantage, yet the room itself was a mess: Wi‑Fi kept dropping, mobile signal was weak, and there was barely any storage—just two hangers on a coat rack. The walls were noticeably humid with mold, the reversible AC stopped heating after a few minutes and had to be rebooted, and there was no breakfast service.
Staff were super friendly, always ready to help. The spot itself is perfect – right in the middle of everything.
“Les personnels sont très sympathiques et le cours de l’hôtel est traditionnel et joli”
The hotel sits right next to the temples, which made exploring super easy, but the room stayed damp—likely from the shower and the local humidity—and the moisture never seemed to clear out.
