“Gute Lage und schnell am Bahnhof”
The location was good, the staff were very friendly, everything was contactless and handled with the door‑opening app, but the price felt steep—probably because it’s close to the fair.
“Unter aller Sau, Etagenbett wie in der Jugendherberge. Niemals wieder.”
Checking in was relatively smooth, but my wife and I booked a double room that was listed as a small double. When we arrived, it felt like a youth hostel with a metal bunk bed, and when we asked why it wasn’t clearly described, we were met with confusion and a bit of nonsense. If you want a youth hostel, book one; this hotel is definitely not recommended—just embarrassing based on the photos.
“Wir sind freiwillig eher abgereist”
The location near Lanxess Arena was great, but it was unbearably hot inside the building, so we left early. The price‑performance ratio was terrible—unrealistically expensive for such old furnishings.
The room and its facilities matched the description, the value for money was excellent, and the hotel’s location was absolutely fantastic—just a short walk from Lanxess Arena and Köln Messe/Deutz Bf, with plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants around. The staff, however, truly deserve the most stars: they were fantastic, very kind and helpful, so I give them 5 out of 5.

There were hairs in the shower.
