梦之南雅朵酒店 Mengzhinan Yaduo Hotel

I booked through Booking but had to pay on the spot, and the staff didn’t speak English. They tried to charge me more with a supposed exchange rate of 26 000 kips instead of the real 21 500, and later mentioned a deposit that wasn’t listed anywhere, which they told us about after we were already checked in. I pointed out that the Booking page never mentioned a deposit, the wrong rate, or extra fees on top of the USD price, but they just nodded and after 30 minutes finally accepted my tickets. I read the comments on Booking and many people mention the same thing… don’t let them push you.

“Everything is very good, but absolutely everywhere smoked in the hotel and a terrible smell.”

Everything is really good, but the whole hotel is smoked over and the smell is awful everywhere.

“Good facilities but very bad managed and sourrounded by construction works”

The hotel seems very new and modern and the bedroom and beds are very clean and confortables. Toilets are good and clean. People smoke everywhere in the hotel even in the rooms beside ours and in the reception (no non-smoking policy at all, amazing!!!). The price of the booking was in dolars and we asked to pay in kips (no way to pay by card), but they applied an abusive currency conversion (1 dolar = 26000 kips). After half an hour of discussion with the receptionist, that was communicating with the manager by phone, they agreed an acceptable currency conversion (all the process was very exhausting). The Hotel, that is difficult to find with the info provided, is sourrounded by onsite works, so the access is quite risky with machinery, holes, dust, noise,.a real challenge

“I will never go back there”

I asked for a room change because of weak Wi‑Fi, and they swapped it for me. No one speaks English there. They only accept cash, no card, and their exchange rate is odd; when they asked me to pay in local currency I was charged 6 $ extra. They also asked for a deposit in local currency that wasn’t mentioned before booking. The hotel area is dirty and full of construction.

The rooms are lovely and modern, and the staff are helpful. The only downside is you can’t pay with a card and there are no ATMs.
