The staircase was a problem.

The value for money and proximity to the highway were good, and the host was very kind. He offered a simple, tasty full menu with drinks and coffee at an unbeatable price, and the same applied to breakfast. Nothing to note.

I’ve stayed here many times over the last thirty years or so, so I must like it! The brothers who run it are lovely people and it’s always good to have a restaurant on site, classic French food and good wines. The rooms are small and basic with comfortable beds, good bathrooms and spotlessly clean. They are very cheap. Vallon itself is a delightful place, with a fantastic automata museum and electric boats for hire on the historic Canal du Berry. If you’re very large you might find the space a bit tight.

A perfect stopover with a very welcoming staff, a comfy room that even has air‑conditioning, a decent breakfast, and the option to dine at the on‑site restaurant where the food is good. Nothing to complain about.
