It’s a cheap basic hotel that feels more like a guesthouse; bike parking is at reception, staff are pleasant enough, the town is unassuming and quiet, and you can enjoy a nice walk along the canal with market stalls during the day. The bathroom is a basic wet room, so the wet floor can be slippery. It sits on the main road next to the main canal bridge, so it’s busy and traffic starts early, like the rest of Vietnam’s countryside. The bed is hard, typical for Vietnam, and there are lots of flies that sometimes get into the room, though the resident gecko keeps them in check.
