The family took care of us, fixed the room issues and made our stay unforgettable. Meals were hearty and tasty, and the view of mini Adams Peak was nice. The stairs to get from Ella to the guesthouse were a bit of a hassle (smiley).

The staff were very welcoming, offering tea and cakes when we arrived. Dinner was good and the breakfast was also very nice. The setting outside the city is stunning! Most tuk‑tuks take you to the main road for 500 rupees… then you have to walk 5 minutes or negotiate for a lift up the hill! But the place is worth it because it’s gorgeous!!!

The family was very friendly, but they didn’t speak much English. The location was lovely. The food was fine. The beds were comfortable, but there was no bedding (only fleece blankets that seemed unwashed). The bathroom was really dirty. The floor was broken. Otherwise it was very basic. The (warm) shower had almost no water pressure.

The breakfast was great, the view was amazing, and the service was outstanding, but only one electric socket worked, so we had to share it for our appliances.

The spot is insane and you deserve the incredible view after climbing fifty‑plus gorgeous stairs—avoid it if you have mobility or health issues. The reception is adorable and the surroundings are wonderful. The breakfast is very generous, and dinner is also good if you decide to eat there. Skip the little path that leads to the guest house entrance with a van, especially in the rain; take a tuk‑tuk instead. Overall, very picturesque and the services match the price. Just check the cleanliness and the sheets if you can; I don’t think it was a real issue.
