The food was delicious, Dave was very friendly, the place was super peaceful, and the garden was lovely.

I loved the secluded rural outlook, the house, and the hosts. They were really helpful, and the six beds were exactly what a large group of singles needed. Lots of nice touches, and the only addition that would have made it better was a second toilet/bathroom.

It was great to have a place that welcomed our dogs, very relaxed, and Dave was friendly and helpful.

The mud‑brick dwelling’s solidity gave a very relaxing vibe and everyone slept well, a nice change from creaky NZ builds. Host Dave was friendly and helpful, and the woodburner for winter was a major draw and the reason we booked. The kitchen lacked equipment/utensils, which is important for us, but I’m sure that will improve. There’s plenty of sleeping space, but the bathroom with a WC means it’s suited to a maximum of five people; we were five males and any more and we’d be cramped in the lounge. There’s rustic charm, but the build is unfinished (interior detailing).

A cozy, welcoming house where Dave upstairs was very helpful, even hosting a jam session with our guitar‑obsessed son and guiding us through a breath‑work session; any missing items were supplied quickly on request.
