“Delicious cuisine across all the restaurants, excellent service and a wonderful lake excursion”
I liked this place a lot, but the reception couldn’t set up a reservation for five‑o’clock tea or for dinner at the Ashford Castle, and we didn’t realize that such bookings had to be made in advance even for guests of The Lodge at Ashford Castle.
Falconry was fine and the grounds were beautiful, but access to the castle was far more limited than the online marketing suggested.
“Looking forward to returning to the Ashford Lodge in the future”
We spent two nights at the lodge and loved the activities, especially the tour of the outdoor movie scenes from *The Quiet Man*, filmed in Cong, and the boat trip to the island where we learned about St. Patrick’s banishment by pagans. The only downside was missing out on a round of golf because some facilities were closed for a company booking of the entire castle, which was understandable but disappointing.

Everything was just perfect in every way.

A stunning property inside the beautiful château park, giving you a 5‑minute walk to the château and a 20‑minute stroll to Cong. Unfortunately, there are no covered smoking areas, which is a pity.
