I stayed here for five nights. The owner was very kind and treated us to homemade curry that tasted amazing. Most guests were long‑term foreign residents, all very friendly, and I made friends from South Africa, France, Tunisia, and other countries. However, the one elderly Japanese guest who stayed long‑term was a hard‑to‑stand extreme right‑winger with strong xenophobic feelings, especially against Chinese people. He used the fact that foreigners didn’t speak Japanese to insult and mock us in Japanese, repeating slurs and claiming that “Japanese people in Japan are the best.” He insisted that foreigners must follow all Japanese customs, even those not written in law, and that was unreasonable. He also had clear militaristic views, suddenly asking me, “Are you happy that China beat Japan?” in a snide tone, repeating it over and over. He made me angry, threatened me, and tried to report me to the immigration office to force my expulsion. Anyone considering staying here should be cautious unless that extremist guest is removed or expelled, especially Chinese guests. If you’re filming a video about Japanese right‑wing militarists, that’s another story, but otherwise stay away. I was angry for five days and didn’t want to argue because I shared a room and feared harm at night.
