The food and location were good, but the receptionist was an issue.

Getting there from the various viewpoints in Chitrakoot was easy, and I enjoyed a holy dip in the Mandakini right next to the hotel. The staff were polite and humble, the food was excellent (no onion or garlic), and the hospitality was wonderful – the best choice for a stay. In June, however, the ACs should be checked and started at least 30 minutes before arrival; when we arrived, the room was like a boiler and it took almost 30 minutes to reach a normal temperature.

“Sheer Delight.”

The location was superb for breakfast, the staff were very orderly, the food was marvelous, and cleanliness was 100 %. We would have liked to stay longer, but our return tickets to Mumbai were already booked.

“Good property, terrible staff conduct and dishonest billing practices.”

The property looked good on arrival. Checking out was a nightmare – an unjust bedsheet charge of ₹1,150 for a pre‑damaged sheet, no bill for 35+ minutes, staff saying “jo karna ho kar lo” when I asked for one, and a threatening call the next day pressuring us to delete our review. I didn’t get home until midnight instead of 7:30 PM because of the stress. Avoid.

“Good Location”

The food was good, and the hotel’s own restaurant served great meals, including breakfast. The hotel sits right on the bank of the Mandakini river, a shallow mountain river where you can swim all day – that was the best part of my stay.
