Astra Motor Lodge

They provided beds, a bowl, and a toilet bag for our dog, which I loved, and overall the stay was great.

“Was a wonderful stay for me, my family and pet.”

The room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly, and the location was ideal—close to shops, a hospital, and a park for dog walks, plus an outdoor area for quick bathroom breaks; the place was quiet and peaceful. There’s nothing I’d change; the stay and pet‑friendly setup were wonderful.

“I would have no problem staying here again if I needed to be close to the hospital. Rachel the receptionist was absolute”

I’ve stayed here before because my husband was at Waikato hospital, and again this time it’s just a 5 minute walk, so it’s very convenient. The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear chatter from the room next door, but that’s common in most motels.

“Very average , and would not book again.”

Not much to say positively. The place is very noisy; if you’re in a bottom apartment, you can easily hear water running from the shower and toilet above. It’s expensive for basic accommodation.

“Easy and enjoyable”

The place is in a great spot, so I really enjoyed it here, though parking for a car is a bit of a hassle but still doable.
