“A welcoming home in paradise, where we wished we could stay for much longer.”
We decided last minute to visit Bunaken Island and stayed at Cha Cha after seeing its location and reviews. Our stay quickly became our favorite vacation. Bunaken has beautiful, pristine reefs, and snorkeling was easy from the resort’s beach. What made Cha Cha stand out was the hospitality. Agnes, the manager and chef, was lovely. We had many chats with her and enjoyed her amazing food; every dinner felt special. Cindy’s iced milk coffee was perfect on a hot afternoon after lunch. Mul, the snorkeling guide, was patient, even with one of us who had thalassophobia and was nervous about snorkeling. The friendly dogs Luna and Jessie joined us for walks and swims along the beach. Reiko helped from the start of booking, answering questions and making us feel welcome. We were glad to meet her when we left. We’re sad to leave Cha Cha but look forward to returning, and we feel a Bunaken trip means a Cha Cha visit. Sometimes there were power cuts at night, making it hard to sleep, but that’s beyond the resort’s control. They did use generators for a few hours and provided rechargeable standing fans in the room.
