“Perfekt für den Kurzurlaub mit Hund”

This great hotel sits in a very secluded spot right on Lake Immeln; it used to be a business hotel, so it’s modern and spacious, but the new owners make it feel very family‑like. The rooms are practical, with a hairdryer, kettle and a small supply of coffee and tea, and the tiny ensuite bathroom is not heated separately, as is common in Sweden. The restaurant offers a spectacular view over the lake, and the breakfast menu is diverse, emphasizing regional and homemade specialties. Parking is ample, and there’s a 22 kW electric car charger (two outlets, operated by Pair – downloading the app makes it really convenient). A truly remarkable feature is the owners’ dog‑friendliness – the dog is allowed in the restaurant (unusual in Sweden), and there are dog towels, biscuits, water bowls, etc. at the entrance. The hotel’s immediate surroundings consist of a handful of buildings and forest, with marked hiking trails of various lengths and several bathing spots on Immeln – a dream for dog owners (for people, the lake is very rocky, so swimming is best at the official bathing spot about 200 m away).

The breakfast is good by my taste, and the restaurant serves tasty food. The restaurant itself is a nice new addition with huge windows that give a full view of the lake. However, I wish there were lighter lunch options, perhaps a good salad. I also noticed that the waffle iron often had a queue, so a faster machine would help. It would be handy to have the waffle batter in a large plastic bottle instead of pouring it with a big spoon, which can spill easily.
