The room was gorgeous, spotless, and had a lovely scent; the restaurant was nice and the breakfast excellent, with lunch and dinner reasonably priced; the hot spring was pleasant though we didn’t try the pool, and the herbal bath was amazing. The reception staff seemed friendly at first, but several problems left a bitter taste: the cleaning schedule was vague, so when we requested a 10 a.m. cleaning it didn’t happen, and a later request for an hour‑later cleaning was ignored; we asked when rooms were cleaned so we could plan, and they said it would happen during lunch, which didn’t occur either. Later, when we wanted to rest before the hot spring and pool—both only open 2–3 hours a day—loud noise from cleaners in another room kept us awake at 2 p.m.; we asked them to finish our room afterward. On arrival we asked about options to return to Hanoi; they promised to check and inform us, but never did. The reception man said he would meet us at dinner to explain, yet he didn’t show up, so we had to go back to the front desk for details. Options included an expensive private taxi, a taxi to city A, a bus to city B, then another bus to Hanoi; we chose the private taxi. I also asked for help with a bank issue, they said they’d check and answer, but that never happened. Other minor glitches occurred, but the unreliability of the reception was the biggest frustration, making us feel we couldn’t trust their promises.
