The spot had a great sea view, looked beautiful and was clean, and the host was exceptional—friendly and hospitable. Breakfast was great, offering every option I could have wanted. I didn’t find anything I didn’t like; if I had to nitpick, the bathroom mirror was too high for my 5’2 height and I would have liked a top sheet because I tend to get hot at night even in a cool room. The room temperature was perfect, and I’m sure the host would have provided a sheet if I had asked. The room was perfect and even came with robes.

“Gina's lovely Anchorage B&B”

Gina is the most accommodating and lovely hostess, and her lovingly cared-for B&B is the most restful place to stay—by the sea and yet a short train to Edinburgh. Spotlessly shiny, clean, and homely, with lovely breakfast service. Anchorage provided a restful spot while I was attending the frenetic Fringe! Nothing—everything was perfect!
