“Het was erg duur, €95,. Per nacht zonder ontbijt. Het werd een Tiny house genoemd , maar t was een opgeknapte schaftkeet”
It was quiet and the bed was good. There was no breakfast, and the bathroom was quite far away.

We found the location great because it was close to where my husband was going the next day. We had almost the entire building to ourselves, and the spacious family room was excellent. The bed for our son was very nice. The room had all the comforts: a bedside lamp, even hot water from the tap. Guests could use the fridge and the large kitchen to prepare food. Staying an extra night was no problem. Shared showers and toilets were fine, and there were almost no other guests. The wiring for the lights was a bit clumsy; I had to watch my step when walking past the bed to avoid tripping, and once I got caught on a cable and the little gutter on the wall came loose. I hope that has been fixed now.

For a room without a private shower, the price is too high; 60 to 70 € would be more appropriate.

It was quiet. I booked a room and arrived to an old psychiatric facility with the same rooms as when it was a hospital. No TV, only two sockets, old flooring, curtains that make you feel admitted. There are also permanent residents who can’t live there “for a while.” It’s disgraceful to charge 170 € for two nights. I felt cheated, so I left after one night. The room stank.

I talked with a few residents and the cleaner; no one is present during the day. It’s a kind of conference/course centre, which was very relaxing. There’s no breakfast, but Heiloo has a Hema where you can have a decent breakfast for a reasonable price. Plenty of free parking. It’s nice to receive a code for a key box by e‑mail, the building key is in a mailbox, and no one waits for you—you can go breakfast whenever you want; there’s no rush, it’s very relaxed. Coffee, tea and filtered water are free from the machine; the toilet and shower are on the corridor. Outside is a garden where many courses can be taken, like yoga, sweat‑tents with cold plunge pools, etc. It was a former GGD site, very spread out with multiple functions; another building on the site is rented to migrant workers, job seekers, or permanent residents. This is not meant to be negative.
