Hotel Paxton Barcelona

The hotel sits just a few minutes on foot from public transport, cafés, bakeries and restaurants, and the room is a decent size with staff who are very helpful.

The breakfast was super, the people friendly and the hotel very tidy—this deserves a big compliment! The pool was already closed so early in the season and outside it was still 24 °C, a missed opportunity. There is no insulation between the floors or between the units; every sound from the upstairs or nearby neighbors was audible, so I slept very poorly every night.

“Modern and beautiful”

The location is a nice, less touristy area with plenty of cool restaurants and cafés, and the beach is only 12 minutes away on foot—reasonably clean and beautiful. The design and furniture of the hotel, and of the room, are beautiful—very modern and cozy, except for the shower, which is a point of contention. Many places to have breakfast around. I’m not a big fan of the modern room concept where the shower has no door (separated from the main room only by intransparent glass walls), but even less comfortable is the glass‑wall toilet (though it does have a door, it is rather symbolic and does not provide any privacy). No problem if you travel alone, but if you have companions—this was not very comfortable. If you prefer to open the windows at night, car noise might be disturbing. Of course you can always switch on A/C, however in my room even on the lowest fan setting it was blowing pretty strong.

“Excellent hotel”

From stepping through the door to checking out, the staff were excellent. The hotel is in fantastic condition and extremely clean. Breakfast was excellent with a great selection. The room was quiet and spotless. I would definitely stay again.

Comfortable bed, versatile breakfast buffet. The fridge was far too small and the digital control of the air‑conditioning was cumbersome.
