“Disappointing”

The proximity to Thorpe Park is a plus, but the reviews are misleading. The boat is grimy and urgently needs an overhaul. I arrived in London after traveling from Cheshire, and before I reached the boat, the owner called to say the main bathroom was unusable because the shower was broken and the toilet was blocked. I was offered a free stay next year, which I declined since I’d never seen the place; we agreed on a refund for that night. I supplied my bank details right away and never received a reply or a refund. When I followed up, the owner claimed it was on its way. I had to involve a third party, and they told me they couldn’t resolve it with the owner, so they paid me £27 as compensation. Aside from the bathroom issue, it was not worth the money I paid.

“The Boat Stay that didn’t happen”

I was excited to stay here with my nieces for their graduation present, but they cancelled my booking 24 hours before arrival because the toilet had apparently been blocked. Looking at recent reviews before I went, there seemed to be a bathroom problem. Cancelling 24 hours before was not ideal, especially after booking and paying for local activities. I was told I could stay at a travel lodge, but if I wanted that I would have booked it in the first place. I found a blessing in disguise location, but it cost me more money due to the short notice, and the few days away were not ruined. I received a refund, but it still left me feeling upset.

“Lovely unique way to spend a leisurely evening”

The location was beautiful and quiet, but unfortunately the single toilet and shower weren't working, and the owner called only two hours before we were due to leave.

“disappointing”

The location is great for Thorpe Park, and Paige was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the boat itself was in pretty bad shape, extremely dated and not very clean. The whole thing needs to be gutted and refurbished. We decided not to stay on the boat in the end and slept elsewhere.
