The King Guest Room sleeps three guests with a king‑size bed, an extra roll‑away bed and a crib available on request. “Economically terrible.”
The atmosphere and the size of the room were fine. However, they still haven’t returned the $300 security deposit, and the $600 they promised to refund through the booking site has never arrived.
“Great location but don't expect modern conveniences.”
We got an upgraded room with an amazing view of the lake, museums, and the park. The staff were okay but really indifferent, and the facilities feel old.

Excellent location that lets you walk to several points of interest. The lack of cleaning between guests left a pizza box with crumbs on the fridge inside the tiny room where it’s stored!!! Since we didn’t use the fridge, we only discovered it when we left!!!
“This place is for senior 60+ travelers only!”
The location is great. If you’re 60+ you’ll love it. But it’s historic and then it’s outdated and old, and unfortunately this was outdated and old. It doesn’t feel like a luxury hotel. Next time I’ll stay somewhere else. The price is the same as much nicer and newer luxury hotels in the area. Old in a not so great way. I love architecture and history but this place has made little effort in updating in ways that still make for a great experience. Severely outdated to the point the place felt dead.

An ancient hotel renovated. The hall is very beautiful, though a bit dark. Our lake‑view room was huge and nice. Great fitness center. Everything is nice if you like historic structures, but nothing exceptional. The staff are generally friendly, but not all. The café/bar inside is of fairly low quality for US standards.
