Angel of the Sea Bed and Breakfast

“Will be back!!!!”

The room was small, but I didn’t spend much time in it. The bed was super comfy! Breakfast was amazing every day – YUM. The beach was a short walk away and gorgeous. The staff were simply wonderful. The tub, however, was a let‑down.

“We loved our stay, and felt there were so many amenities that made this a great value.”

Angel by the Sea offered great value. The location was fantastic, just one block from the beach. We stayed in September and the beach felt almost ours. We used the beach chairs, umbrellas, and even a beach wagon (the front desk said a previous guest had left it). Breakfasts were top notch! Tea time was lovely with pastries, and wine and cheese in the evening was a treat. Every staff member we met was hospitable, friendly, and informative. We’re already looking forward to our next stay. The bathroom was very small, as expected in an older Victorian home. A tiny wooden step helped enter the shower, and moving in and out required careful attention to avoid slipping.

“For an expensive stay I would have expected a place better maintained and refreshed.”

The location is good. It felt neglected; I love vintage and antiques, but it needed a full refresh—paint, curtains, furniture. Instead of a romantic feel, it looked more like a retirement home. Burn marks at the reception desk, broken furniture at the stairway entrance, etc. Breakfast had some nice fruit, but the poached egg on a croissant was a soggy mess. Nearly all the bikes had rusted chains.

It felt like stepping back in time—just beautiful. I didn’t find anything I didn’t like.
