There really wasn’t anything good about it, thank goodness it was just a stopover before moving on. The rooms feel dated, the ceiling looks like it could collapse, and the mosquito nets are disgusting.

“Interesting”

The place has lots of character, pity it has not had a refresh in along time to make it more appealing. Rooms are spacious, beds comfortable but very poor lighting, few lamps would help. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Bathrooms need an upgrade, almost no light

My experience at this lodge was a letdown. The pool was empty, which was a major disappointment.

“The perfect base for visiting the desert elephants”

I was pleasantly surprised by the re-imagined old Fort, which had a great atmosphere. The big trees in the yard added to the charm, and the view from the tower was stunning. The food was also good, and the people were friendly. Our guide, Ernest, was perfect for a drive into the Hoanib river bed and visiting the desert elephants, and we enjoyed the experience in our own car.

I stayed at this colonial fort lodge, which had a unique and picturesque atmosphere, but unfortunately, it was also one of the worst lodges I've experienced in Namibia. The lodge's aging facilities needed renovation, including faulty showers and worn-out furniture. The lack of standard amenities, such as kettles and regular housekeeping, was noticeable. The high price tag was not justified by the experience.
