The Lamb Inn

“Wonderful Inn with Rooms experience.”

We were looking for a pub‑with‑rooms vibe and Lamb hit the mark. The welcome was warm for us and especially for our dog. The pub had character, was historic, and buzzing with locals. Beer selection was strong, with local brews highlighted. The menu was spot on, offering a good spread of pies and classic British pub fare. Food was made with care, genuine thought and flavour. Our room faced the town square and had many thoughtful touches that made the stay feel personal. We slept soundly on a super bed. It feels like we found a gem and want to come back. Stay another night! Plenty to see and do in Sandford and Crediton.

On a Monday the kitchen closed early, so they rang me up to ask if I wanted dinner when I arrived. I already knew what I wanted and it was ready for me. I chatted with the landlord, who has an amazing story to share. I stayed in a different room from last week and it had a view over the village square. The shower was powerful and the bed comfy. Around 4am there was noise from someone loading their van, probably the linen delivery.

“Lovely country pub but very hard to park”

“Really comfy traditional old pub. nick is lovely.”

Room 4 was lovely, the beds were super comfortable, it was clean, and everything we needed for a great night’s sleep was there. I was a little disappointed with the food.

“A proper Devon village pub with rooms”

It’s a good village pub with a nice range of beers, good food and atmosphere. The rooms are in a separate building so they’re quiet. The team are friendly and welcoming. If I were really picky, there’s a bit of peeling paint in the bathroom, but it didn’t detract from my stay.
