The central location, the historic building with high ceilings and deep windows, and the pleasant, good breakfast made a nice stay. However, when I booked the room a month before arrival I specifically requested a particular room layout and even gave the room number. When we arrived, it seemed the receptionist had no idea about our request. None of the rooms with the same layout were available, but on the next night we were able to switch to the desired room. No serious issue, but I wonder if booking a specific room a month in advance guarantees it. I suspect no one else had requested that exact room type on the same dates. The requests sent in could have been handled better. The mirrors in the room were flashy, the bathroom mirror was already stained at check‑in, the kitchen counter by the window was dusty, and on the third floor there was a smell from the toilet drain. The rug to the reception was dirty and stained and would benefit from a textile wash. We like this hotel, so it’s a shame it feels like not all aspects are cared for as they deserve.

“Ett av de bästa hotell jag har bott på, på väldigt länge!”

I recently stayed at Elite Hotell Mimer in Umeå and was extremely satisfied with the entire visit, from check‑in to check‑out. The reception staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating right from the start. Check‑in was quick and smooth, and you felt genuinely welcomed. Throughout my stay the staff were service‑oriented and always ready to help with big or small requests. We even ordered sandwiches for a morning meeting! The room was clean, fresh, and very comfortable. The bed was pleasant to sleep in, and the blend of the hotel’s historic charm with modern conveniences created a truly nice atmosphere. The bathroom met a high standard and everything felt newly cleaned and well‑maintained. The hotel’s central location in Umeå made it easy to walk to the city, restaurants, and sights. An excellent base whether you’re there for work or pleasure. Breakfast was a real highlight – a wide and varied selection of high‑quality hot and cold options. Everything was delicious, with plenty of space to sit and enjoy in peace, giving a cozy café vibe to the interior and the old courtyard. There was nothing to complain about; everything was perfect!
