“The price is just ok and apparently you’re paying for the view because we’ve been in way nicer accommodations for that p”
The views were great and the spot was close to the water. However, the room didn’t match the ad: we paid for a family room and received a small room with two twin beds; the listing promised a kitchen, utensils, microwave, and stove, but none were in the room, forcing us to use the common area and feeling like we were intruding on the host’s space. The private onsen also didn’t exist, and the owner said we couldn’t use it or that something was wrong with it, making communication tough. I tried Google Translate, but the host kept insisting we had the family room, which seemed unlikely since we weren’t a family and barely fit in the room. The place looked a bit rundown; the carpets were stained and could use replacement. When we arrived, the host, who doesn’t speak clear English, showed us two rooms without using his translation, so it felt like we were using two rooms. I had coffee in one room to avoid waking my husband early in our tiny room. The host was unhappy and caused trouble, so communication stayed unclear.
